Velvet Nails

For the longest time on the internet I've been seeing these velvet nail posts from Ciate and some other brands and I think they're sooo glam. I think velvet in itself is pretty glamorous, imagine them on your nails!!

Anywho, of course everybody's heard about the caviar nails, (also popularized by Ciate), and I've yet to try those too. So yesterday I went to Quiapo with my mom to get stuff framed and I happened to come across this nail art store that sells probably absolutely everything you can put on your nails. They have the fake Ciate ones (that I honestly dont mind lol) but they were out of colors but then I saw that they also had those powdered velvet for the nails so I got myself some!

I bought them in 3 colors: maroon, forest green, black (because I think velvet looks best in those rich colours) it would probably look a bit tacky in lighter colors. They had them in small containers like these! Also I bought the caviar ones which I'd be posting once I get to use them. :)

This is the one that I have (below)

I figured Ill make a short tutorial on this, in case you wanted to try it out for yourself. It's pretty much a no-brainer, but it's a bit tedious.

You will need:

*Velvet powder
*Similar color of normal (glossy) polish
*A small brush

1. Apply the normal polish on your nails

2. IMMEDIATELY after, carefully pour on the powdered velvet on top of the wet polish.
DO NOT pat on it, it will smudge the wet polish on your nails and make the velvet look flat. Leave it alone, crazy woman!

lol thats basically it. your nails will look all fuzzy like this hihi

Clean around your nails with a soft brush (small make up brush will do)

OKAY i suck at photographing this but i promise it looks better in real life!!!

Candy polish!

Im finally baaaaack! The past few weeks have been sooo busy acads-wise and just work in general.. so I haven't really had enough freetime to post anything.. that and probably also not having any idea what to post. :\

Anywhooooo, today I went to 168 with my mom to buy a Christmas costume for something (lol) and I came across these yummy nail polish colors! If you haven't seen my very first post, where I also posted something about nail polish, I'm not at all brand conscious when it comes to nail polish because I change polish very frequently so it doesn't really matter to me if they chip easy (not saying that cheap ones do.. I honestly don't see a difference). This is I think a generic nail polish brand because it just says 'LM nail polish' haha. They're so pretty and so cheap! I will forever be a cheapskate! Also, from years and years of buying nail polish, I learned that if you love the color, BUY IT! Especially when the colors are hard to find, totes worth the envy of people who can't find the same colors hehe

So which color do you like the most? :) I don't really know which one to use first yet but we'll see hihi. Hope everyone's enjoying their break because apparently I can't yet! :( Happy holidays! :D

Peripera's Loving My Lip and Eye Remover Review

As you may have seen from my recent posts, I went to Korea over the sembreak... and if you guys aren't into make up or anything and don't know,  Korea is practically cosmetics heaven *u* In the last couple of years here in the Philippines, there have been a lot of Korean brands that have been taking over the teen cosmetics market by storm because of their super cute and adorbs packaging like The Face Shop, Etude House, Beauty Credit, Skin Food, etc. For me they're relatively cheaper compared to European/American cosmetics and they work fine since my skin isn't that sensitive anyway. When we went to korea though, it was so much more cheaper there.. so being the panic buyer that I am, you could say I bought a loooot. :| Anyway, here's one of the things I got there: Peripera's Loving My Lip and Eye Remover

Thing I noticed with Korean branding is how they phrase things.. Don't fret because this make up remover doesn't really remove your eyes and lips.. :)) I have a nail polish remover that's also korean and it says 'nail remover' haha sounds painful ANYWAYYY

Pros:
  • not oily/greasy
  • more hygienic packaging than cold creams
  • takes away almost all eye make up with just one swipe of cotton
  • good with waterproof mascara/eyeliner
  • smells so yummy! like grapfruit or something :3
Cons:
  • It's not available in the Phils :<
  • nothing really lol

Glitter on yellow

Did this just a while ago.. I wanted to post something so badly but I didn't know what, I figured might as well post it here lol

Nail polish used from (L-R) :
-Etude House's Lucida glitter polish in silver
-CR lol just got this brand in a tiangge
-local brand Chic's white satin

I honestly don't know why some people are soooo brand conscious about everything. Even with nail polish.. I honestly don't care.. as long as I like the color I'd buy it. I know the branded ones usually last longer, but with my constant changing of nail polish (i get bored with it easily), it doesn't matter because I'd take them off after a couple of days anyway.

Got that perfect sunshine yellow nail polish i wanted in 168 for like P20 haha //cheapskateforever
